Date : 29th September 2009 - 2rd Nov 2009Day 1:
I dunno since when we are so addicted to Facebook. Everywhere also want Facebook but mainly is because ah gon, at that point of time, was very obsessed with Roller Coaster game so he always want to check it out whenever it is possible. Now we are addicted to Cafe World, see how long can we stuck into that game.
Got back home early from work on the day before my flight. Cos once you been there, you close one eye to pack also can... Haha...
With ah gon's father helped, we booked our flight around 10am so at least we dun need to wake up in the middle of the night and saved money from booking taxi...
My first time in budget terminal and maybe will be the last.. It is really shit man!!! We should just pay a little more to get a non-budget airline and get free food, free drink and even can waste our time watching tv on plane...
Bored at mini terminal with just a few shop for us to walk around in less than 30 mins time.
End our one hour waiting, time to board the plane...
And it is really very budget. They didn't have any link way that connecting from one end to the plane door. First time walking up to the plane using staircase... From the photo you should be able to guess which airline I am taking...
Our only group photos... Couple dates in foreign country.
Amazed by the view that he seen... This time I prepared myself with ear plug which greatly reduced the impact of my ear block...
Bright blue sky... Good day to start your first day of your holiday...
Yea!! We reached the place safely and had slept soundly too. We went to buy the prepaid card first which worth about 300mins. One baht for one min... Damm cheap lo... I should have bought that in my first trip and I wun incurred about SSG200 plus of bills for dunno how many minutes only.
If you are traveling without tour guide, go to Exit 5 and approached a few counter girls and tell them your hotel name, they will write in Thai language. After that we took the paper and went to another customer queue and there will be a queue for taxi drivers so a middle man/woman will exchange tickets from one another. So you just followed the taxi driver and make sure is on meter...
After settling down our things, we headed to Chinatown. First time being there. 热泪庆祝!! It is good that you booked an early flight so that you wun waste a whole day. Walked for about 15 mins, we started to turn left instead of continue walking straight aimlessly and we discovered accessories heaven... LOL... But is an expensive heaven... All the earrings and necklace at least 200 bucks unless you get the wholesale but you can get a lot of nice and unique earring from there... Spent 1000 bahts on just accessories...
After that we headed back to hotel to put our staff before we went for dinner at Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Did I mentioned which hotel that I am staying? I stayed at
First World House Hotel. Just opposite
Platinum Mall!!! The heaven shopping center...
Still remember the experience of ordering food with the help of a small torchlight.
Once woman started shopping, they will never be time for photo-taking... haha.. Sorry no photos of how Suan Lum looked like.
My sushi boy
Ah gon favourite stall that is just below our hotel..
Day 2: We carried a huge and important mission in this Bangkok. We had to buy Thai Buddha for ah gon's father so we had to go to Grand Palace to get it by hook or by crook.
We took a taxi over there, on the way just before we headed to Chinatown on Day 1, the driver asked a lot of questions and tried to be friendly. He took us to a ferry terminal, he went to the counter first before waving us as signal to say that there is ferry for us to take to the Grand Palace. But from what ah gon's father told us we can just purely take taxi and reach there. And the boss of the ferry terminal is asking for SG50 per pax... They must be out of their mind man!!
Of cos we rejected and the taxi driver rejected to send us to Chinatown which is just nearby and only dropped us off a junction and asked us to take another cab. There is always something weird about the taxi driver in Thailand. they can choose their customer and choose where they can go or they dun wan to go...
Finally reached Grand Palace by taxi.
First time visiting Grand Palace. Missed it last time because I got a half day boat tour around Chao Phraya River.
I was totally amazed of their interior painting of one of the temple that open to public. The painting seem like repeating but each of them are unique... Can you imagine how tall the temple is and the drawing is all the way up to the peak of the ceiling... 太强啦!!!
Bought the Buddha back safely before we headed to Suan Lum Night Bazaar again... haha. We went there basically everyday and ordered zi cha food from the same person. He is a China-Thai therefore it is easier to communicate with him and the food were damm fresh and HUGE.
One of our couple slipper...
Day 3 :A&W as breakfast. As they said, when you lost it, you will then treasure it.
Cute fries packing
The legendary waffles ice-cream
Places to go and Things to buy:
MBK - Oriental Princess, Foot spray/deodorants.
Siam Square : Nothing to buy
Central World : Nothing to buy. All branded stuff.
Bobae Tower : Wholesale t-shirts. Cheapest that I bought is 89 bahts each.
Platinum Mall : Crazy place to shop. Endless shopping to discover
Managed to finish "settling" Platinum Mall, Level 1 to 3 only so we had to get up early on our last day to chiong all the unfinished levels and finished all the Thai money...
Back to hotel again to put down all our 战利品...
Back to Suan Lum again to continue our undiscovered shops and exchanges ah gon's pant due to wrong sizing. This time, the boys decided to have the traditional massage which cost about 180 buck for 1 hour.
Group photo with the auntie that helped them massage. Thai people are really friendly and easy to talk to. We made a few friends through shopping but some of them esp. taxi driver are conning people that trying to earn a few bahts more.
Another pair of couple slipper.
This is only part of what I had. My 2 bags were brimmed of exploding and I had to resort to get a pink plastic bag from Platinum Mall to contain my half day shopping.
Dragged our sleepy head and ready to check in. Ah gon didn't know that the timing on the return tickets was indicated in Thailand time so we reached there 1 hour earlier. And we silly waiting for the counter to open for 30 mins before our hungry stomach called us.
Full dinner before we headed to the budget plane again.
Huge crowds awaiting for the counter to open. It only open just 30 mins before the flight time. You know why?
Cos our flight was delayed for 2 hours.
First time experience storming weather. I felt so amazed when you saw thunder blinking in between the clouds below your feet. Haha... Damm weird.
My father was complaining that I saved for a few months and spent it all in one holiday. I been to Bangkok 2 times within 6 months. It is not a very good habit to have. I really need to save more money to get myself a new look of my bedroom... Another Bangkok trip in June?! Hee
I enjoyed my shopping trip and totally can stopped me from shopping virtually or reality for at least 2 months...
p.s. I will continue to blog so keep coming because I need to keep my golden rice bowl. Kidding, part of it is yes and another is, I like to post my photos here to share.
